Key Performances
Trit Raj Das (Janakpur Bolts) – The standout batter, Das anchored the innings with a fluent 61 off 55 balls, striking at a strike rate of 110. His partnership with Moeen Ali steadied the innings after early wickets, and his late surge, highlighted by the decisive six in the 18th over, was the catalyst for victory.
Chamika Karunaratne (Janakpur Bolts) – The left‑arm pacer delivered 2/23 in just three overs, keeping the Avengers under pressure during the middle overs and forcing a series of wickets that stalled the chase.
Kushal Bhurtel (Pokhara Avengers) – The top‑order batsman contributed a brisk 35 off 24, keeping the Avengers within reach of the target before the collapse.
Moeen Ali (Pokhara Avengers) – A rare all‑round display, Ali claimed 3/13 in four overs, providing the breakthrough that turned the tide in the Bolts’ favor.
Turning Points
The match pivoted around three critical moments. First, the early wicket of Janakpur’s opener forced Das to take charge, and his composed 61 laid the foundation. Second, Chamika Karunaratne’s spell in the 7th and 8th overs yielded two crucial wickets, breaking a potential partnership for the Avengers and keeping the required run‑rate manageable for the Bolts. Finally, the 18th over six from Das not only pushed the total beyond 130 but also demoralised the Avengers, who could only muster nine runs in the final two overs.
Series Implications
With this win, Janakpur Bolts improve to a 3‑1 lead in the all‑time head‑to‑head against Pokhara Avengers, reinforcing their dominance in the Nepal Premier League 2026. The victory boosts their net run rate, an essential factor as the league progresses toward the knockout stage. For Pokhara Avengers, the loss highlights the need for a deeper middle order and tighter death‑over bowling if they are to stay in contention. Both teams will eye the upcoming fixtures, but the Bolts now carry momentum and confidence, especially after a performance that showcased depth in both batting and bowling.
